a determined young woman disguises herself as a man to practice medicine in Ancient Greece, a profession punishable by death, after her mother dies at the hands of her father, Athens’ most respected physician.

Women are dying in childbirth.

Sapphic women are torn apart and killed.

Agnodice is set in Ancient Greece where Agnes, a young woman believes the death of her mother, Zoe, during childbirth was all her fault. Now, she’s determined to save the women in Athens.

Based on the real Ancient myth, Agnes disguised herself as a man to practice medicine. But, her father, Nikitas, is the Master of Medicine in Athens, a man who will readily kill for the status quo.

Her lover, Perasia, is set to marry Stelios, attendant to Nikitas and rival to Agnes. Yet, that doesn’t sway Agnes and Perasia from seeing each other in the shadows.

Agnodice combines the love triangle energy with a medical drama set in a time not too different from ours, where women’s bodily autonomy aren’t their own.

Agnes is determined to change that.
